Commercial Ride on Floor Sweepers

Ride-on sweepers are built for one thing — covering serious ground quickly. Where a walk-behind machine runs out of steam on a large warehouse or car park, a ride-on keeps going. We stock ride-on floor sweepers from Tennant and Suresweep suited to warehouses, factories, logistics centres, and outdoor hardstand areas across Australia — with models covering everything from compact indoor machines through to heavy-duty outdoor sweepers handling fine dust and large debris alike. Wide cleaning paths, large hoppers, and integrated dust control mean fewer passes, less emptying, and cleaner air. Give us a call if you need help matching the right model to your floor area and debris type.

Choosing the Right Ride-On Floor Sweeper

The range spans compact indoor machines through to heavy-duty industrial sweepers built for large outdoor hardstand areas. The key variables are hopper capacity, cleaning width, dust control specification, and whether the machine is running indoors, outdoors, or both. Get those right and the machine will earn its keep quickly on a large site.

Tennant S680 — Compact Indoor Ride-On

The S680 is Tennant's compact ride-on sweeper — built for indoor use in warehouses, manufacturing facilities, and logistics centres where a full-size machine is too large for the layout. Tight turning radius, battery powered, dust-controlled, and simple to operate. The right choice for facilities that have outgrown walk-behind productivity but don't need the hopper capacity or outdoor rating of the larger Suresweep models.

Lavorwash SWL1000ET — Mid-Range Option

The SWL1000ET sits between the Tennant S680 and the Suresweep STR range — a larger platform than the S680 with increased hopper capacity suited to heavier debris loads and longer cleaning runs. A practical mid-range option for facilities covering significant indoor floor area daily.

Stolzenberg Suresweep STR Range — Industrial Scale

The Suresweep STR models are the heavy end of the range — German-engineered ride-on sweepers built for serious industrial and outdoor applications. All are battery powered with integrated dust suppression systems, covering a range of hopper capacities and sweeping widths from large indoor environments through to major outdoor hardstand areas, distribution centres, airports, and industrial sites where sweeping volume and coverage speed are the primary requirements.

Indoor vs Outdoor

All models in the range handle indoor use. For outdoor hardstand, car parks, and external yard areas the Suresweep STR models are the appropriate choice — their build quality and dust suppression are rated for the debris volumes and surface conditions outdoor applications generate. The Tennant S680 is primarily an indoor machine. If your application crosses between indoor and outdoor use, confirm the outdoor rating with us before selecting a model.

Frequently Asked Questions — Ride-On Floor Sweepers

What is the difference between a ride-on sweeper and a ride-on scrubber?

A ride-on sweeper collects dry debris — dust, dirt, packaging material, sand, and loose waste — into an onboard hopper using rotating brushes and a suction system. It does not apply water or clean the floor surface. A ride-on scrubber applies water and cleaning solution, agitates the floor with brushes or pads, and vacuums the dirty water up — leaving the floor clean and nearly dry. Many large facilities use both: a sweeper first to collect loose debris, then a scrubber to clean the surface. Running a scrubber through heavy debris without sweeping first reduces scrubbing performance and clogs the recovery tank.

How large an area do I need to justify a ride-on sweeper?

As a rough guide, once your sweeping area exceeds 3,000–5,000m² per shift or your debris load is consistently heavy, a ride-on becomes the more cost-effective choice over a walk-behind. The productivity difference is significant — a ride-on covers the same area in a fraction of the time, which translates directly into labour savings. For large distribution centres, manufacturing plants, and outdoor hardstand areas, the payback period on a ride-on sweeper is typically short when labour costs are factored in properly.

Do ride-on sweepers control dust?

Yes — all models in our range have integrated dust control systems that suppress fine particulates during sweeping. This matters both for operator health and for air quality in occupied facilities. The Suresweep STR models have particularly robust dust suppression rated for outdoor and industrial environments where dust generation is high. If your site has fine dust as a specific WHS concern, confirm the dust control specification of the model with us before purchasing.

What debris types can a ride-on sweeper handle?

Fine dust, sand, grit, packaging waste, plastic film, paper, wood chips, and general loose debris. The brush configuration matters for coarser or heavier material — confirm the debris type with us if you're dealing with anything outside standard warehouse and factory waste. Ride-on sweepers are not designed for wet material, sludge, or liquid — for those applications a wet and dry vacuum or scrubber is the correct tool.
