High volume ATEX dust collection with a 60 L, 100 L or endless bag option
The Delfin DM2 EL EX is a single phase industrial vacuum for collecting large volumes of non-reactive combustible dust in ATEX and IECEx classified areas. It has a 30,000 cm² antistatic Class M star filter, a standard H14 absolute filter and an 80 mm suction inlet. The powerhead is Ex tb dust tight rated to IP64. Choose a 60 litre tank for Zone 22, a 100 litre tank for Zone 21, or a 20 metre endless bag for Zone 21.
What each feature does for your site
- Ex tb dust tight powerhead, IP64 — the motor head is certified for combustible dust atmospheres, so the machine can run in the area rather than outside it.
- Anti-spark, static dissipative accessories and non-metallic parts — these parts are tested for ignition risk, so hoses and tools do not become a source of static discharge.
- Internal Zone 20 protection (Da) — the inside of the machine is built for the dust cloud that forms in the tank and filter, so the collected dust is contained safely.
- 2.2 kW motor with up to 430 m³/h airflow — high airflow through an 80 mm inlet, so heavy dust loads and long hose runs are cleared in fewer passes.
- 30,000 cm² antistatic Class M star filter with manual cleaning — a large filter area with an operator-triggered clean, so airflow recovers without stripping the machine down.
- H14 absolute filter included as standard — fine dust is held at 99.995% efficiency (MPPS, EN 1822-5), so less dust returns to the workplace air.
- 60 L or 100 L AISI 304 stainless steel tank — a non-combustible, easy-to-clean tank, so you empty less often on high volume jobs.
- 20 m endless bag version — dust is bagged and sealed in a continuous roll, so operators handle less fine dust when emptying.

High reach cleaning in the same zone
Dust settles on beams, ducting and rafters as well as the floor. A certified high reach kit such as the SpaceVac 50 mm ATEX Pro kit or the SpaceVac ATEX Pro kit lets crews clean overhead surfaces from the ground. This machine has an 80 mm inlet, so contact us and we will confirm the correct adaptor before you order. For overhead work in a Zone 21 area, choose a Zone 21 configuration.
Who it suits
Food, flour and sugar processing, timber and woodworking, pharmaceutical, chemical and plastics sites with a hazardous area classification and high volumes of combustible dust. For a smaller unit, see the Delfin MTL 451 EX.
Frequently asked questions
Which configuration do I need?
The zone depends on the hazardous area classification of the place you will use it, which is set by your site's hazardous area assessment. Zone 21 equipment can also be used where Zone 22 is specified. Choose the endless bag if you want to bag the dust down without handling it. Confirm the requirement with your safety officer or hazardous area assessor before ordering.
What does the 1/3D or 1/2D marking mean?
The first number is the protection category for the inside of the machine and the second is for the outside. 1/3D means Zone 20 inside and Zone 22 outside. 1/2D means Zone 20 inside and Zone 21 outside. The D means dust.
What dust can it collect?
The dry type is for non-reactive combustible dust such as flour, sugar, wood and plastics dust. It is not for reactive or self-igniting dusts such as aluminium or titanium. Delfin makes wet type vacuums with an inert neutralising system for those, so contact us if that is your dust.
Can it pick up liquids?
No. This model is for dry dust and solids only. If you need an ATEX machine that also collects non-flammable liquids, see the Delfin MTL 801 WD EX.
Does it include an H14 filter?
Yes. A 26,000 cm² H14 absolute filter is included as standard.
What power supply does it need?
The Zone 22 version runs on 230 V single phase and draws 10 A. The Zone 21 versions run on 115 or 230 V single phase and draw up to 16 A, so they need a 16 A circuit.
