Clean combustible dust in classified areas without introducing an ignition source
The Delfin MTL 301 EX is a compact single phase industrial vacuum for collecting non-reactive combustible dust in ATEX and IECEx classified areas. The powerhead is Ex tb dust tight rated to IP64, the accessories and non-metallic parts are tested for anti-spark and static dissipative performance, and the 40 litre tank is AISI 304 stainless steel. Choose the Zone 22 or Zone 21 version to match the classification of the area you are cleaning.
What each feature does for your site
- Ex tb dust tight powerhead, IP64 — the motor head is certified for combustible dust atmospheres, so the machine can run in the area rather than outside it.
- Anti-spark, static dissipative accessories and non-metallic parts — these parts are tested for ignition risk, so hoses and tools do not become a source of static discharge.
- Internal Zone 20 protection (Da) — the inside of the machine is built for the dust cloud that forms in the tank and filter, so the collected dust is contained safely.
- Antistatic Class M polyester filter plus a standard H14 absolute filter — fine dust is held through two filter stages at 99.995% efficiency (MPPS, EN 1822-5), so less dust returns to the workplace air.
- 40 litre AISI 304 stainless steel tank — a non-combustible, easy-to-clean tank, so you can hold a shift's collection and clean it down between dust types.
- M Class antistatic disposable bag included — dust is bagged for disposal, so operators handle less fine dust when emptying.
- Compact and mobile, 26 kg — the machine is small enough to carry between work areas, so one person can move it where it is needed.
Choose your configuration

- Zone 21 (Category 1/2D) — marked II 1/2D Ex h tb IIIC T80°C (internal) / T95°C (external) Da/Db. Internal Zone 20, external Zone 21. 115/230 V.

High reach cleaning in the same zone
Dust settles on beams, ducting and rafters as well as the floor. Pair the 50 mm inlet with a certified high reach kit such as the SpaceVac ATEX Pro kit, which includes a 38 mm to 50 mm vacuum inlet cuff, or the SpaceVac 50 mm ATEX Pro kit, so overhead dust is removed from the same classified area from the ground. For overhead work in a Zone 21 area, choose the Zone 21 version of this vacuum.
Who it suits
Food, flour and sugar processing, timber and woodworking, pharmaceutical, chemical, plastics and powder coating sites with a hazardous area classification for combustible dust. For more tank capacity or automatic cartridge cleaning, see the Delfin MTL 201 EX.
Frequently asked questions
Which version do I need, Zone 21 or Zone 22?
That depends on the hazardous area classification of the place you will use it. This is set by your site's hazardous area assessment, not by us. Zone 21 equipment can also be used where Zone 22 is specified. Confirm the requirement with your safety officer or hazardous area assessor before ordering.
What does the 1/3D or 1/2D marking mean?
The first number is the protection category for the inside of the machine and the second is for the outside. 1/3D means Zone 20 inside and Zone 22 outside. 1/2D means Zone 20 inside and Zone 21 outside. The D means dust.
What dust can it collect?
The dry type is for non-reactive combustible dust such as flour, sugar, wood and plastics dust. It is not for reactive or self-igniting dusts such as aluminium or titanium. Delfin makes wet type vacuums with an inert neutralising system for those, so contact us if that is your dust.
Can it pick up liquids?
No. This model is for dry dust only. If you need an ATEX machine that also collects non-flammable liquids, see the Delfin MTL 801 WD EX.
Does it include an H14 filter?
Yes. A 11,000 cm² H14 absolute filter is standard, in addition to the antistatic Class M primary filter.
Can I use it with SpaceVac high reach poles?
The 50 mm inlet suits SpaceVac ATEX kits that fit a 50 mm vacuum inlet. Contact us and we will confirm the right kit and fittings for your machine.
How much does freight cost?
